This is another good example of a reduction cooled wood fired bottle. You get some very interesting colors when you keep the kiln in reduction during the cooling cycle. I prefer the blues, the greys, the tans, and the other soft colors to the bright greens that result from an oxidation cooling cycle. This bottle is made from a white stoneware. The colors would be much different if the clay had more iron. I like both looks about the same. I think I'm going to fire a little more red clay this year.
