Wood Fired Tenmoku Glaze 나무 Tenmoku 유약 해 고

I don't like to glaze my pots that I put into the wood fired kilns. However, I see some beautiful results from the potters who do. Sometimes wood firing changes the glaze. Sometimes it makes it better, sometimes it make it worse. The glaze on this pot was really improved during the wood firing. This pot was glazed with tenmoku, which is a well known iron glaze. It is usually a black to brown glaze. It sometimes turns a little red or orange around an edge.

This brown to black glaze has small golden yellow flakes floating in the glaze. It was beautiful. I would love to have some pots turn out like this.
