Air Pollution In South Korea 한국에서 대기 오염

I found the air quality good in South Korea. This is especially true when you get in the mountains away from Seoul. However, some of the worst air pollution that I have ever experienced engulfed South Korea when I was there. The event lasted 24 to 36 hours. The sky turned this strange yellow color. The smell was horrible. It made my eyes water, my nose run, and made it hard to breath. The air smelled of solvents, sort of like paint thinner. Thankfully, this pollution was a short lived event. I'm sure that this was a very unhealthy situation. I hope that I never see anything like this again.

I was told that this is a huge cloud of pollution that blows in with the wind from China. I have no way of knowing if that is true or not. All that I know was that there were no South Korean factories in the direction of the wind. I hope the day comes when this doesn't happen any more. Evey one deserves clean air to breath.
