I have been trying some of Itunes apps to help learn the Korean language on my own. Some are much better than others. However, I doubt anyone could learn to speak Korean with only an Ipod and a few apps. However, I do think they can help.

This app is called Yubisashi English - South Korean Touch and Talk. The price is $7.99 US. That is expensive. I don't remember paying that much. I'm fairly sure that I bought it on sale. I hope I did anyway.

The app has about 45 different groups of words and phrases. Each group is on its own page and deal with subjects like transportation and shopping. Each word or phrase has a small picture, the words in English, and the words in Korean. The best part is that you can touch the picture and the app will say the words in the Korean language. The voice is easily understood, but it could be better.

I think this is one of those apps that is hard to rate. I think the value of this app will vary widely from one person to another. Personally, I think the app is good, but a little basic. I think its best feature is the ability to see the Korean words and hear the pronunciation. You could actually use this app to help you speak with a Korean person. However, I would try to avoid that. I think it is best to try to use your few Korean words and hand signals to talk. I think using electronic devices is a little rude, unless you know the person well. Even then, I would use it as little as possible.

I would buy this app again, but not at the price of almost $8 US. At that price, there are much better apps out there.
