Then, we usually place it in the Peter Pugger to get the air out of the clay. If you do not have a pugmill, you have to hand wedge the air out. This is a method that I have used to mix hundreds of pound of clay. It is simply mixing 2 or more commercial clay bodies together. You can get some suprisingly good results doing this. I like one clay where I mix porcelain with a sandy buff clay body. I also like to mix porcelain with iron clay bodies. The only drawback to this is that it takes a lot of work. Of course, if you had a Peter Pugger, it would be really easy.
