He does a great job organizing the potters and keeping everything on schedule. He gives a daily demonstration of pottery techniques on the wheel. He also is ready to help everyone with his knowledge of glazes and clay bodies. I really enjoy firing with Jason and hope to continue to fire with him long into the future.

Jason's signature pot is his bottle form. He likes to place the bottles in groups of 5 or 7. I think the comparisons of differences and similarities between the bottles is the important part of the grouping. I assure you that there is a much better explanation of his work.

The bottles are stacked and fired in the side stoke area of the big wood kilns. A tremendous amount of wood is stoked on top of the pots. Also, to make a more unique surface, he stokes organic materials such as rice hulls and straw on top of the bottles.

All of these bottles have been fired multiple times. There is no set amount of firings that the bottles must go through. They are all individually inspected after each firing and unless they are "right", they are fired again. None of the bottles that were shown in this blog post were "right".
