The app has 3 parts. Part 1, is a phrase list. They used some good sense and actually picked words that you need to know. The words are at the level of a beginner to maybe an intermediate. The phrases and words are organized well. There is even a list of the top 10 things to learn and the top 50 things to learn.
In part 2, the app takes all of the words and phrases in each list and turns them into flash cards. You can see if you know the word in Korean or English. Also, there is a button that you can push to hear the correct pronunciation. There is one thing unusual that the speaker. You can actually understand what she is saying. That is very, very rare in these Korean apps.
Part 3 is a speech studio. They show you a word on a flash card. The word is written in hangeul and in the romantic version. At the bottom of the card is a record button. You can easily tell if you are pronouncing the word correctly. This is by far the best method of learning how to speak the Korean words. This is the main reason that I bought the app.
My recommendation is to get the free app if you want to learn Korean and have an Ipod or Ipod Touch. If you like and want a little more content, then purchase the paid app later. This is one of my favorite apps. I will definitely use this app as I prepare for my second trip to South Korea later this year.
