One More Hydrogen Reduction Pot 한번만 더 수소 환원 포

A few years ago, I fired a wood kiln that we finished with a hydrogen reduction. The hydrogen reduction helps bring out the reduction cooled colors. At the end of the firing, we sprayed water onto the firebox walls. This creates steam. The steam robs the kiln atmosphere of oxygen. Also, as the steam expands, it moves the melted glazes and creates unique effects.

This bottle is around 30 inches tall. I am not sure where it was loaded in the kiln. I really like the colors on the bottom of the pot. However, the grey on the top is too consistent and just is not that eye appealing. I still like it though due it being so unique.

The skinny bottle lead me into a new direction for awhile. I explored stretching the clay and tried to make a new form that would have a little more eye appeal. After a few months I quit making this form due to its size. I just do not have the room to store them. Also, I can only fire 2 of these in my kiln at one time. It is hard to justify the added cost. Still, I would love the opportunity to make more of them. They are really a lot of fun to make. By the way, Burnt Dirt is my name on Flickr.
