Hydrogen Reduction (Also Known As Water Reduction) Part 2 수소 환원 (또한 워터 감소라고도 함) 2 부

Here are my hydrogen (water) reduction pots. As you can see, these are unusual for pots that are wood fired. They were made out of a white stoneware and were placed in the kiln with no glaze. We fired the kiln with pine.

The light yellow, grey, and tan colors are associated with reduction cooling. The pattern of the ash glaze is the most unusual aspect. I am not sure how much this was due to introducing water into the kiln.

On the second pot, you can see a small patch or orange flash. I was told that this was the typical result. The muted orange color was usually much more prominent.

While these pots may not be the most appealing ever made, I think they are special due to the their coloration. I would love to try water reduction again so that I could compare the results to these pots.
