It was a little strange how I came to find my hotel room in Busan. The Busan International Film festival was going on, so there weren't many hotel rooms in town. So, you definitely want to check for festival dates before you travel to South Korea and plan accordingly. I wanted to stay at the Hotel Ellyse. I had read about it in one of the travel books that I took to South Korean. It was in the location that I wanted and in my price range. It wasn't too difficult to get to the hotel even though I travelled to Busan by KTS from Seoul, used the Busan subway, and used a taxi. When I got to the hotel lobby for check in, I found that the hotel was booked for the next week. The owner, San Ho, offered to find me a hotel nearby. After placing a few calls, he took me for a walk to the Ace Hotel. He was kind and carried my luggage the whole way, even up the stairs at the Ace Hotel. He negotiated with the owner and told me to look at the room before booking. The room was simple, it was basically a bed and a shower. Since I knew the options left were few, I took the room. The price was excellent, less than $30 US.

Mr. San Ho even invited me to come back to his hotel later that afternoon and he would give me a map and mark all of the best attractions and restaurants. He also helped me with the subway. He definitely helped make my stay in Busan better. I will stay at his hotel in Busan if I ever go there again. So, I highly recommend seeing San Ho at the Hotel Ellyse in Busan. The location across from the Jalgachi Market was excellent for travelling around the city.
