However, there is the inevitable loss of Seoul's past. As South Korea's economy continues to grow expect even more construction in the future. I am sure that in another 10 years, Seoul will be drastically changed in appearance. Again, this is both a good thing and it is also a little sad.

I stayed in a small hotel room across from this building that was under construction. I spent some time watching the building techniques of the South Korean workers. I work for a company that is involved with the construction of large buildings. I saw only a few differences from American building construction techniques. However, I did see one major difference, safety. There was almost no safety barrier between the public and the construction site. I also noticed this when small buildings were being renovated. People were actually walking under the scaffolding where workers were laying bricks. I was more than shocked at the lack of safety.
