Mopeds are used to deliver food and supplies to various stores and places to eat. They are everywhere. This includes sidewalks, going the wrong way down one way streets, and just about everywhere else. If you are in South Korea, and especially Songtan, watch out. Every time that you walk down a street or sidewalk look out for mopeds. They are quiet and move fast. I am surprised that more people are not injured by them. They do not stop or slow down. They just go. If you see or hear one, move over.

There are some mopeds driven by regular people, but most of them are making deliveries. I didn't see any of the American soldiers or airmen driving a moped. Maybe some do, but I didn't see one. I did see a lot of them riding bicycles. I'm not sure that is good idea though, due to the bad drivers in South Korea.
