Food In Songtan, South Korea 송탄, 한국 음식

There are many, many places to eat in the streets in front of the Osan Air Force Base. You have several American based places like McDonalds and Popeye's Chicken. They both make deliveries. I know that McDonalds makes deliveries 24 hours a day, all over Songtan. The Korean people seemed to love Popeye's Chicken. One thing that surprised me is that there was no spicy chicken. There is a chicken where they sprinkle spices on the plain chicken. Believe me, it is not the same.

There are carts selling street food all over town. I got brave enough and ate at the carts several times during my last few days in Songtan. I always made them cook the meat a little longer. I think is a pretty good way to avoid getting sick.

This is my favorite place to eat in Songtan. It is right next to the short cut stairs that come from the bridge over the subway tracks. My favorite meal was the boiled chicken and cabbage soup with the many side dishes. The older lady that cooks it doesn't speak andy English, but she is very, very nice. I also liked the Thai food place that was near the Popeyes, on the second floor across the street. It was fun to sit at the window and watch the people walking down the street. I had several other places that I liked, but these are my 2 favorites.
