This bottle came out of a kiln during the last firing before it was torn down and rebuilt. The kiln was old and the walls were seperating badly. It really was unsafe to load. One of my friends and I fired the last 6 or 8 hours of the firing together. It took every bit of knowledge that we had accumulated to get the kiln up to temperature. There were some cold areas and the kiln was too oxidized. This caused a lot of the wood fired pots to be light in color. White is not a desired wood firing color. Still, it was one of my favorite kiln firings. I think it proves that wood firing is more than producing good pots. It is also about the good friends that you make.
