Pottery Photo Practice 도자기 사진 연습

After I set up my light box, I took a couple of quick practice photos. The light box definitely helps bring out the true color and texture in my pottery. Here are a few sample photos.

This photo was taken in the place where I usually take my photos. The bottles are placed outside under a metal cover with no direct sun light. The photos always come out very dark and with no detail.

In this next photo, I placed the bottle in the light box. The 3 main lights were not turned on. Only a large overhead flourescent light was used.

This shot used the lights inside the light box. The colors and textures are really nice. I will need to work on placing the bottle and lights in the correct position to get the best photos.

In this photo, I took the cloth filters off. This caused the picture to turn out yellow. The auto white balance was thrown off. This could be adjusted in the camera.

In this final photo, I took a picture of a shiny bottle with the cloth filters removed. The bright spots from the lights are really distracting.

These photos were taken with my old, inexpensive camera pocket camera. To take the portfolio photos I will use my Canon 7D with the 24- 70 f2.8L lens. Also, I will use a tripod with a mechanical release.
