Over the past years, the potters that have worked at the Archie Bray have left behind some great ceramic works. There are literally pots lying on the ground. Now, most of the pots that are lying on the ground are flawed. The following installation pieces are some of my favorites. This is a very small selection of what is available to view. I recommend that any potter passing through Montana drop in and look around. You will be happy that you did.

This first piece is my favorite installation piece ever. I would love to own this, though I guess the artist would actually want money. That might be a problem. One of my main goals is to create something like this. I may not use these exact forms, but I do want a series of pieces that are wood fired. I do not know when I will complete this project, but I do know that it will happen.

This is another nice piece that is installed on a random wall in the back of one of the buildings. Someone made a pyramid out of wood fired tea bowls. I would come in really handy if you were expecting a lot of people coming to your house for tea. I guess that you would need to make a huge tea pot though.

This tile piece consists of 1 inch and 2 inch tiles that were woodfired. This is another piece that I would love to recreate. The dark areas seem to be were the artist piled pine needles on top of the tiles when the tiles were loaded in the kiln. I think that this set of tiles was fired on 1 or 2 large kiln shelves at the same time. I am sorry that I did not see how the tiles were connected. I wish that I had.

This last piece is great. Someone created a set of large every day items and wood fired them. There are things like large buttons, water cans, and screws. The old wooden cart really adds to the scene. This piece was well thought out.
