Orange Bottle 오렌지 병

This bottle flashed reasonably well. However, it needed to be fired a little longer. Sometimes, there just isn't enough time. It might also be that the front of the kiln got too hot and the firing was shortened a bit. Due to the varying levels of experience in a workshop settting, the firing schedules sometimes needed to be altered.

The bottle isn't too bad the way it is. However is just isn't quite up to the standards that I like. I will refire it next year during my vist to the kilns at Northern Arizona University. I will probably place in the back of the kiln to increase the flashing and get a little thicker layer of ash.

I am sorry to continue putting less than perfect pots on my blog. I have just been grabbing whatever is the closest to the edge of one of the shelves. I have my best bottles protected by being further back   I will definitely post more photos of the better pots when I get back from South Korea in about a month. At least a novice wood firer will be able to see that not every pot that comes out of a wood kiln looks like some picture in a book.
