Recycling In South Korea 한국에서 재활용

South Korea has to be one of the greenest countries in the world. In addition to saving electricity in the hotel room by using the special key, they also recycle their trash. In the downtown Songtan area, I saw someone picking every bottle, every can, and similar items out of the trash cans. I will say that they neatly returned the rest of the items to the cans. You couldn't tell that they had been there. Also, people went around and collected all of the cardboard from the area stores. They were always pushing carts piled high with the loads of cardboard. I am not sure if these people worked for the city or if they were doing it for money. All that really matters is that the throw away trash is kept to a minimum.

Even the trash from the local dumpsters is recycled. The men who work for the city lay out the garbage and place all of the recyclables in special containers before loading the other trash into the truck. I captured a photo of this one morning. Again, after they were finished, you could tell that they had been there.
