I speak Texan, which is a form of English understood by few, including most Texans. Sometimes, even I don't know what I just said. I have no doubt that the Korean people will look at me in amazement. I also had perfect attendance and I now have a new Korean dictionary. Yeehaw! See, I told you.

My teacher was Sujin Hwang and she is truly gifted. I learned a lot more than I thought possible. I hope that I am fortunate to take additional levels of Korean from her. Right now, I have urge to stand up and sing and dance to "The 3 Bears Song". At the end of the class, I did what every good potter does. I gave my teacher a nice shiny piece of pottery. She seemed really happy.

I also received a lot of help from my in class study partner, LuLu Ma. I had a terrible time with pronunciations. Most of the sounds had counterparts in Chinese, unlike English. She was patient and very kind.

I really like the Korean language Old guys get a lot of respect from the many levels of formality that the language and culture have. It's almost as good as getting discount coffee. I don't actually qualify for this yet, but I will very soon.
There is a video from my class that was recorded and produced by Mellisa. She did an awesome job in a short time frame. You should also check out her other videos. There are spectacular. On the video, click off the blue HD in the bottom right hand corner. It slows down the video too much. I speak in the middle of the video. I sing and dance at the back of the class (thank God!). I also make a brief appearance in the out takes. I recommend Vimeo after watching a lot of the short movies on there. I plan on uploading some content in the future. I almost forgot. For our last class, the Korean Government treated us to a great meal at the Korean Garden in Houston, on Longpoint Drive. Post meal, about half of the class went to sing karaoke. I absolutely planned to lead a life free from karaoke, but I admit I liked it. I have a feeling this will come in handy during my South Korean vacation.
