My Latest Korean Language Studies 최신 한국어 공부

I have been studying Korean for a little more than a year and a half. I wish that I could speak, read, and write better. However, I am getting better, but slower than I would like. I decided to go back to my Korean language school again. This year I am no longer eligible to attend the other school at the South Korean consulate, since I have completed all of the course work.

My current class is on Saturdays for 3 hours. I try to do homework about 4 or 5 days a week for an hour or two. I am also trying to learn as much new vocabulary as possible throughout the day. I either use my Ipad or try to memorize words off sheets of vocabulary. I keep a set in my bedroom, my car, and at my  girlfriend's apartment. My number one goal this year is to increase my vocabulary.

Our school uses the Dynamic Korean Workbook. We are now in the Level 3 book. We are learning a chapter every week. In my opinion, this is going way too fast. We also have a couple other books that we use. I also have some books that the people at the Korean consulate school gave me that I work in on my own time. My Korean girlfriend is now my new tutor and helps me with my homework. My pronunciation has really improved since I met her. Like I said earlier, I use my Ipad to learn vocabulary. Finally, I watch a few Korean television shows and listen to Korean music when I work out at the gym.

So, I am committed to learning the Korean language. While my progress is slow, I will keep trying and hopefully I will get better every day. I like to say that my  trips to South Korea are my yearly final exam. While that might not be exactly true, it is a good gauge of my learning progress. I look forward to being in South Korea later this year and trying out what I have learned since my last trip.
