You can pay to ride in a speed boat at Sokcho beach. Speed boats aren't very common in South Korea, I assume. I am sure it would be a thrill for some of the Korean people. Most of the people that I know, including myself, have owned multiple boats like these. I did see one couple go out on a ride. The boat owner was really trying to give them a thrill. He was not driving in a safe way. I guess the driving habits of the Koreans extend from the cars to the boats and probably anything else you can drive. Personally, after seeing the boat ride, I would not attempt it. However, others may have a much different opinion on this.

The boats were stored on the beach, away from the water. There was not a boat dock available in the area. They used something that looked like a small tractor to launch the boats and haul them back out of the water. The boat owners can move the boats quickly. I am sure this would still cause a problem when the beach was crowded.
