Finding a Korean language tutor has helped me more than I could ever have imagined. I wish that I would have found her earlier. It really helps that she taught Korean out of the same text book that my 2 current Korean language schools are using. She has the teacher's textbook edition, which is great!

I've noticed that my tutor is not having to spend half of our time together correcting my pronunciations. Still, some words are very difficult for me. Also, my reading speed and accuracy is improving. I can't keep up with the other students in my classes yet, but I am getting close.

We have found that I receive the most benefits of her teaching by just going over the homework from my 2 schools. I usually get about 12 pages of homework from each school. The repetition of the study material is helping me remember much better than when I used to just go to class 1 day a week for 2 hours.

I can't wait until I am back in South Korea. I really want to see how much I've improved. I have confidence that I will be able to communicate much better this year. Of course, last year was such a disaster that there is no way it could be worse.

I wish that everyone who is trying to learn Korean could find someone like my tutor. It is difficult to almost impossible to find a Korean tutor, even in areas with a sizeable Korean population. All that I can say is that it is worth the effort if you are able to find someone. Your Korean language skills will improve  much faster than studying on your own.
